Laurel received her master's in Art History from UC Davis, and specializes in teaching non-Western art at the college and elementary level. She has taught the Native American art courses and Asian art courses at CSUS. She has also taught Ancient art, Renaissance art, Modern art, a variety of non-Western surveys, and the Art of Meso-and South America.
