Welcome!
We are excited about your interest in the Special Major in Dietetics at California State University, Sacramento ( Sacramento State). This Special Major has been developed to provide students with the academic preparation needed as the first step towards a career in dietetics or for students who want a strong nutrition background to use in another health care career. The Special Major is a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) is developmentally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, 1-800-877-1600, Ext. 5400.
This website is designed to provide you with information about the DPD/Special Major including an overview of the program, required coursework, faculty advisors, steps to becoming a registered dietitian and other career options in dietetics. There are also a number of useful links that will answer your questions about general admission requirements and important policies regarding Sacramento State.
