Required Advising

Advising is required for all Dietetics majors at the beginning of their first year at CSUS to plan their program coursework. Any time there are changes to your original plan it is important to contact your advisor. Three semesters prior to anticipated graduation, you must meet with your advisor and complete the paperwork for Special Major status. Meeting with an advisor periodically will help prevent unnecessary delays in your graduation due to improper sequencing of courses or failing to meet prerequisites.

During advising sessions, your advisor can also provide you with information about scholarships, professional organizations, and potential job opportunities.  In addition, your advisor will assist you in planning your future career endeavors, identifying and marketing strengths, recognizing pre-professional and professional expectations, and nurturing professional growth and development.
