THE RIVER CITY QUILTER’S GUILD SCHOLARSHIPFALL 2004
The River City Quilter’s Guild Scholarship is available to CSUS students who have a demonstrated interest in quilting, weaving, textiles or the application of these interests to apparel merchandising/marketing. The scholarship award is a partial amount of the in-state registration fees. For Fall 2004, the amount is $735.00 for undergraduate students and $835.00 for graduate students. In addition to a demonstrated interest in quilting, weaving, or textiles, student eligibility requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum enrollment of six credit hours. Preference will be given to students who will have completed at least two semesters at CSUS by the time they apply for the scholarship. Selection of a scholarship recipient is based on GPA, demonstrated interest, professional goals, references regarding academic performance, and a possible interview with the faculty selection committee. The application deadline for the 2004-2005 academic year is Friday, October 22, 2004. Applications must include one copy of transcripts form all post-secondary institutions attended and names of three reference persons. (Obtaining transcripts takes time to be received – request this information promptly). Applicants will be notified if an interview is required. Selection of recipient will be made by November 1, 2004 Completed applications should be submitted to Professor Lakshmi Malroutu, Family and Consumer Sciences Department in Mariposa Hall, room 3000.
